Bassem Mroue is an agent of the Qataris and regularly publishes drivel. Now he says the Al-Jarrah airport is a "small" one. And get a load of the photo which has nothing to do with the article. And note, they have pulled the picture of the MiG yesterday because it's not a Syrian MiG:

of course it is sad and bad news but it is not the decision and the fact that the rebels didn't captured heavy weapons there shows that it wasn't protected or given up. Maybe like taftanaz.
Videos from taftanaz also showed some helicopters left there.
Dear ziad: if say that the fall of jarrah airport is a fake story you should be able to explain the dozens of videos. It is your credibility at stake.
Nontheless i like to read your blog. Thx for your work.
It could be possible that Jarrah airport has fallen. But I think it is tactical and logical withdrawal of Syrian forces from the airport. From the videos available from the net, all I could see was junk, broken and obsolete Mig-17 planes (which are no longer in use) and two functional L-39 Albatros trainer aircrafts. A loss of two trainer aircraft is definitely negligible. Also all the ammunition left was for gunships of the trainer aircrafts; the rats can not use that either.
DeleteI fully agree.
DeleteIt is notable that there are no signs of heavy fighting in the videos and no captured heavy weapons or munition for heavy weapons. Seems that the defending units withdrawed.
You shouldn´t be insulting rats like that.Rats are cute animals and some are even more articulate than these, ehr...Ewoks:

Man, you have to learn how to spot valid info from false info. Ziad has a good blog in general, and most of what he says is true, not fiction; it's when there is a bad news that he react in a way that I don't like. Let say it, when an officer take a bad decision, like not asking for reinforcements on time, or when he is denied it because of the lack of money, you can lose more in $, especielly if this story repeats itself.
The apes cannot pilot those aircrafts which were old, often not functionnal, but the SAA bombed the place yesterday because they could ultimatelly do something with one or two jets perhaps. I don't believe that they tried to prevent the rodents to take the Tabqa dam, they probably bombed the planes on the ground. The dam is probably not functionnal actually, too isolated if you look on a map, no spare parts, I would be even surprised if it was operating at a 10% capacity.
On the videos the landing gears were absent; I suspect that the SAA was just"canibilizing" those old fighters for the spare parts. But it's still a bad news, because the economic cost in the long run exceeds the cost of dispatching a few hundreds of well armed men BEFORE it happens!
Speaking about "spotting valid info from false info", yahoo has a title,
ReplyDelete"Syrian rebels close in on Aleppo airport", but in the text you read:
"Still, activists said it could be days before the rebels would be able to push their way into the airport, 7 kilometers (4 miles) from the contested city center, and even then, it was unclear whether they would be able to retain control of the sprawling facility for long."
So you can conclude that they failed and wont take the Aleppo airport.
But I'm worried about the remaining remote airfields, it's better if Syria send men and supplies or ask Iran, whatever, to avoid a repetition of such a scenario.
You're so awesome! I do not think I've tгuly reaԁ a sіngle thing lіke this bеfore.

Hello Ziad. i love reading your blogpost, it's so refreshing. i wish more people knew about your website, and the good things you are doing on here. 2011, i was all about Libya, and now, i'm all about Syria!
ReplyDeletei must tell u, the media war is very interesting. if you do not know anything about Syria, one would think that the rebels are ALWAYS on the brink of victory. i love the headline: "rebels fighting in damascus, close to capital. however, the regular joe doesn't realize that not only is Damascus a capital, its a governate upon itself. CIA/CNN/MI6/BBC always rushes to tell you that there is fighting in damascus, and that's it. so one would think that damascus is ALWAYS under siege, which is not always true. Al Jazeera makes it feel like every day, the rebels will win. and as for their program, Inside Syria, what a waste of time!! it is the most unfairly biased program on earth. they don't have anyone with balls anymore, like Jassim Al-Azzawi. anyway, this is my first comment. i am the reader from Ghana. i know that you know of the relationship between the levant and Ghana, but you must elaborate more for our readers. also, can you give us some posts regarding the history of syria? i love your colorful prose.
Please provide us with more info on the Army offensive at al Safira. This battle is crucial!
